Main thought: to explore the thought what would you do if you were God.

Itís amazing how many movies man has made about how God is and how He acts. But, have you ever seriously considered what you would do if you were God?

To truly begin to bring this into perspective, we need to look around us at those who have great power and wealth and notice how quickly people come to their service. It seems that those without, flock to those with, like bees to honey. But, have you considered the devotion of those who offer their services to those in power and wealth? I believe itís as thin as paper and as soon as their physical needs are met, their desire to serve those in positions of power and authority will also fade away.

Is it any wonder then that God has established His plan of salvation the way that He has? Imagine the Lord of Heaven and earth, Who is absolutely limitless in Power and Wealth and ALL things are from Him and to Him they will return. Is it any wonder that those who get to partake with Him in Glory will first be put to the test in this world of troubles and cares? I think that only those who have committed all of their hearts to someone and has had that love betrayed can truly begin to comprehend the pain that the Fatherís heart felt when the power and authority he gave to satan was twisted by satan for his own pleasure.

If we didnít have to have Faith to know that God is and could look upon God with our physical eyes in all of His Splendor, Power, and Authority, how much devotion do you think that would develop, not much Iím afraid. It didnít for satan and it wouldnít for us either. Letís not forget the Israelites that God displayed awesome power to, not only before them, but also before a whole nation. Then after having powerfully and miraculously brought them out of Egypt, He then rained down bread and meat for them and provided water from the rock in the wilderness. How much devotion did that develop in them? Practically zero! So, the Wonderful, Loving, Almighty God, Maker of Heaven and earth devised a plan whereby we should be saved. By this method He will have the means to display to all creation what He already knows and that is what motivates our wills. Is it power and wealth or is it love, kindness, and faithfulness? Matthew 23:23 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spicesĖmint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the lawĖjustice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. (Whole Chapter: Matthew 23 In context: Matthew 23:22-24)

Thereís a level of commitment that the Fatherís heart seeks and itís not a commitment based only on oneís temporary, selfish physical satisfaction. Matthew 10:28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Whole Chapter: Matthew 10 In context: Matthew 10:27-29) and another good scripture which depicts how important our physical comfort is for our eternal destiny; Matthew 5:29&30; 29If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. And yet even with all of the scriptures that depict how much more important our walk is with Him from hearts full of love rather than bodies full of health, weíre still consumed with seeking Him for His healing of our bodies of clay that are here and gone and allow our love for Him to grow cold. John 6:26&27 26Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.Ē

If being racked with pain and suffering will produce in me a closer walk with Him, than bring them on! Heavenís gates will swing wide for such who desire God not for what He can do but for Who He Is. God Bless our brother Job who even though God had given him much power and wealth looked beyond those to the heart of God and when God chose to remove them from him he says here in Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him. (Whole Chapter: Job 13 In context: Job 13:14-16) Hearts such as Jobs are the ones that truly bring Glory, Honor and Praise to Christ our King! Not those who only follow Him for the comfort He can provide to our health or our wealth but because of Who He Is! The riches of Heaven will belong to those in abundance who were not seeking the treasures of Heaven but the Treasure of Heaven, Christ our King. Yes, there will be streets of purest gold and foundation stones of incredible gems but they will be for those who in this life sought the heart of God to reign in theirs.

The more I see the nature of man and how incredibly selfish we are, the more content I am with the way God has planned all things before us. Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Whole Chapter: Jeremiah 17 In context: Jeremiah 17:8-10) Those who suffer in this body and who focus their wrath upon God and not at our own sinfulness are short sighted in deed. There are those who spend many days, weeks, months and years seeking God for healing in their bodies while every moment of each day could have been filled with joy beyond their wildest imagination by seeking not the work of Godís Hands but His Heart. He has ALL Power and Authority and so healing for him is nothing, what His heart truly desires is for relationship with each one of us not based on what He can do, but for Who He Is.

Love, Godís Love, truly is the greatest reason for being. 1 Corinthians 13:1 If I speak in the tongues[ 13:1 Or languages] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. (Whole Chapter: 1 Corinthians 13 In context: 1 Corinthians 13:1-2) Oh, to reflect on the beauty of the One from which we exist!

Heavenly Father, thank You that greater than all of our physical comfort is the Joy of knowing You! May You ever develop the Beauty of Your Son in me. Thank You for Who are and that everything you do is merely a wellspring that flows from Your heart. In Jesus Wonderful, Glorious Name, Amen!
