Main Thought: To examine seeing with our intellect rather
than our hearts
To Know the mind of God
Gen
3:5
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof,
then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and
evil.
Oh, the draw/pull to ‘be as a god’.
Isa
14:13
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend
into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also
upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: Isa
14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the
most High.
This desire was first birthed into satan’s
heart who now has supplanted that very desire within the heart of man.
Gen
2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man,
saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest
freely eat: Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and
evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest
thereof thou shalt surely die.
Gen 3:12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest
to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. Gen
3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that
thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did
eat. Gen 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast
done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of
the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days
of thy life: Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and
between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise
his heel. Gen 3:16 Unto the woman
he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou
shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and
he shall rule over thee. Gen 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto
the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee,
saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in
sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
God could have chosen to spell it out for
mankind (or for Adam) explaining to him what he meant concerning His words of;
“Gen 2:17 But of the tree
of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day
that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” But He didn’t, He merely
gave him His command and left obedience to His words to Adam.
Hence, I believe it’s obedience rather than
our mental understanding that is so important to our Father’s Heart. Three different scripture references
throughout God’s Word shares that fact as follows; 1Sa 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as
great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of
the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to
hearken than the fat of rams. AND, Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine
heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Pro 3:6 In all thy
ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. AND, Heb_11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a
rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Thus, it’s this very reason ‘to be as God’ that
was birthed into satan and then into Adam that has
caused God to NOT reveal certain ‘details’ as to what He is doing or why. And
yet, because this same lust for knowledge was also birthed into mankind through
Adam, He chooses to reveal only certain things to those who are nearest His
heart as noted here; “Amo_3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” What truly amazes me, is
that there are many who are trying to use this one scripture in opposition to
the MANY other references God shares that He chooses ‘faith’ rather than our
‘mental understanding’ for us to know certain things.
It’s unfortunate that the ‘lust to know’ was
more important to satan and to us than ‘the desire to
obey’. And, as I cruise the Youtube videos concerning the upcoming
rapture/catching away of Christ’s wise virgins (only the wise ones, not the
foolish ones, take notice both groups were waiting for Him, but only one group
was taken), I’m overwhelmed with those that are trying to ‘pin down’ the date
or few days of this upcoming wonderful event! And MOST of those that are, use
the one scripture of Amos 3:7 to justify their efforts while ignoring the
‘spirit’ of our Father’s Heart NOT to reveal certain things.
Why do you think that God Himself designates
one group of the virgins wise while the other group
foolish? I believe that one group chooses to ‘relay upon’ their own mental understanding
of when they think He’ll be arriving while the other group is in such a
passionate ‘love affair’ with Him, they’re not relying on ‘when He may arrive’
but their hearts are so in Love with Him, that they’ve come prepared with
plenty of oil to be ‘expectantly’ waiting for Him at ALL times, not only at
certain times.
I believe that God reserves the right to NOT
be clear about certain upcoming events for the purpose of sifting out the wise
from the foolish virgins. For He chooses ‘faith’ rather than ‘our mental
understanding’. It isn’t that He’s opposed to ‘mental understanding’, for He
gives it in abundance to those who first learn how to walk by faith and not by
sight. And yet, there are many who claim Jesus as Lord who revert back to the
same old ‘lust to know’ rather than to ‘trust and obey’; Gal
3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in
the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing
faith rather than clarity of mental comprehension for those who have access
into the secret chambers with You. Teach us who have
heard the voice of your Son not to revert back to the lust for knowledge rather
than obedience to Your Son’s Words to watch and pray. For it’s in His name,
Jesus the King of kings and Lord of lord’s name we pray, Amen.
