The Oil in the Lamps

Thought: To pen some thoughts as to what the oil of the Lamps of God’s Word in Matt 25:1-13 may represent
These thoughts came to mind while watching the following YouTube video this date titled “The Rapture: Part 4 - The Parable of the Ten Virgins - Section 1” at URL of; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiXouGZOnsE Made by YouTube Channel titled “God’s Roadmap to the End.”
I agree with the maker of the video that there have been countless feelings as to what this oil represents. For it seems to me that God’s Word is many times like an infinitely beautiful Diamond which has many facets of light each one while being a different ray of light all still bringing glory to their source, the Diamond itself. And so using that thought as a springboard, let me share my thoughts as to what the oil may represent;
To me, that oil represents ‘passion’ for the one being waited for. Not a ‘confessional relationship or a name it and claim it ONLY type’ but a heartfelt ache for the One being lovingly and longingly hoped for.
To me, passion is to the heart of the body like wind is to the sails of a ship. And while the mind of the body may be like rudder of a ship, the ship won’t move without the wind so too, the body won’t move without the heart deciding to take action. God’s Word is clear to us about the dangers of trying to serve Him by word of mouth only; 1Th_1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. AND, Jas_1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. And finally; 2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Only ‘speaking’ our faith without living it is always sooo much easier but robs those living by that standard. No wonder that our Lord’s reply to the foolish was; “Mat 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.” Those that have experienced the fire of love know why it is many times referenced as fire for it burns hot within the one consumed by it. Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. AND, Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
So then just as we all have hearts, (all ten virgins) only five were in a passionate love affair with the Bridegroom while 5 were there in word only but lacked a true passion from the heart. How sad it must be for those who only serve the Lord from their minds and NOT their hearts as is proclaimed for us in; Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Precious Loving Heavenly Father, may none of us that have heard the Sound of Your Voice being Your Son, only claim Him from our minds and not our hearts! May He fill and thrill every corner of our hearts to Your Glory, Honor, and Praise! For it’s in Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
