Main Thought:                   To examine the Character of God’s Heart.

The Fire of Love

Have you ever noticed that Love is many times symbolized by fire? It seems that many times, it actually feels like our hearts burn within us for those that we love. Acts 2:3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. Acts 2:2-4 (in Context) Acts 2 (Whole Chapter) Acts 2:2-4 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them. No wonder that the lack of love then is symbolized by cold; Matthew 24:12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold Matthew 24:11-13 (in Context) Matthew 24 (Whole Chapter)

The Fire of God’s Holy Spirit desires to flow through vessels that have the same fire for passion as He does. Paul had it, which is why, even though he was going in the wrong direction initially, God saw through the error of his ways and saw his heart. How we allow those things that we see to affect our faith. God is like a Mighty Raging Fire; Deuteronomy 4:24 For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. Deuteronomy 4:23-25 (in Context) Deuteronomy 4 (Whole Chapter). No wonder that the spirit of only being lukewarm really sickens His Heart; Revelation 3:15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! Revelation 3:14-16 (in Context) Revelation 3 (Whole Chapter) Revelation 3:16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Revelation 3:15-17 (in Context) Revelation 3 (Whole Chapter) Our Brother Paul who was initially cold due to going in the wrong direction was able to become hot due to his whole heartedness. All Our Heavenly Father had to do was to open his understanding. Because of the fire of wholeheartedness God had placed in Paul’s heart, he became one of the greatest servants of Christ. America has been blessed which is an absolutely incredible challenge to keep the fire of passion aflame. Oh how we tend to forget the source of our life when our flesh is content. Deuteronomy 6:10-12 10 When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, 11 houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied, 12 be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. Our Lord tells us to be “careful” because He understands how we tend to lose sight of Him when the flesh is content. But, although it is easy to do, we don’t need to allow it. It’s through drawing near to Him that the fire of passion can be rekindled.  It’s through staying near to Him that the fire will never go out. Our Lord is getting ready to pour out His Spirit upon those who will press in to Him for Who He Is and not for What He Has. There is more Power, Love and Holiness that will flow out all over those who will learn to delight themselves not in His blessings, but in Him. Note verses 4-9 of Deuteronomy 6:  4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. God knows that if we don’t loose ourselves in something, we won’t stay with it. Which is why His Word is to be upon our hearts and impressed upon our kids and whatever we do, His Word should take preeminence.

How we need to enter into the Fire of God’s passionate Love so that we may be consumed thereby so that just like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego all that will be burned up will be the bonds that are put there by the world to try and constrain us; Daniel 3:19-29 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual 20 and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace. 21 So these men, wearing their robes, trousers, turbans and other clothes, were bound and thrown into the blazing furnace. 22 The king's command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, 23 and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace.24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, "Weren't there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?" They replied, "Certainly, O king."25 He said, "Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods."26 Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, "Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!" So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, 27 and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them. 28 Then Nebuchadnezzar said, "Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king's command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. 29 Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be cut into pieces and their houses be turned into piles of rubble, for no other god can save in this way."

NOTE: The King is returning soon! Those that have an ear to hear, let them hear the urgency of the Spirit to enter in the Fire of God’s Love. Heavenly Father, May you ever teach how to surrender our hearts, and all You’ve given us to You that we may be One with You as You, the Son and Spirit are One. In Jesus Glorious, Eternal, and Matchless Name, Amen.
