Main Thought: To examine the thought of being expectant or not
There's Mothers, and then there are Mothers to be, expectant Mothers. And just as it is true that only the expectant Mothers are the ones to be giving birth soon, so it is that only the wise virgins (the ones expecting Him) who will be the ones invited to the Wedding Feast of the Lamb.
To Keep watch than means to be expecting Him at any moment. In other words, it's only the expectant Mother who is caring for herself and ensuring that she is eating properly and not doing anything that will harm her unborn that will normally result in her giving birth to a healthy child. (note; because of sin though, sometimes it doesn't matter how many precautions one takes, but God knows how, even in the darkest storms, to see us through them!) Also, it's only the wise virgins as noted in Matt 25:1-13 that will be taken at the time of the upcoming Rapture.
And, just as an expectant Mother who isn't very careful with herself may experience a miscarriage (again, this may also happen no matter HOW careful someone may be) so to the foolish virgins that were also waiting for the Bridegroom (but not expectantly) will also miscarriage and miss the upcoming rapture. In other words, there are Mothers that will deliver soon, and then there are Mothers that won't. In the same way, there will be those who believe in Jesus and say they are waiting for Him but will miss Him, and then there will be those who not only say it, they 'are expecting' Him and thus will be invited. Expecting involves not only our words, it involves our whole state of being and action.
To truly be expecting something requires something more than mere words. In other words, we can name it and claim it/blab it or grab it until the cows come home, but that won't get us very far. This is why our Lord tells us to watch and pray. Luk_21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Only 1 of the 7 churches that Jesus addresses in Revelations 2 & 3 He states here; Rev 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
And, while this 'escape event, Rapture' will ONLY be enjoyed by those 'expecting' Him, those who only 'say they are' but are NOT expecting him with their words AND actions, will more than like miscarriage and NOT be raptured.
Are we an expectant Mother or just a Mother? Are we a wise a virgin or a foolish one? The determining factor is 'expectancy'. We can say we're a 'wise virgin' until the cows come home BUT, if we're NOT following up our words with truly expecting Him with our lives, then we must not believe we will be going when He shouts from on High for His bride to meet Him in the clouds.
Jesus our Lord desires for each and every one who claims Him as Lord & Savior to join Him at His Wedding Feast, BUT, only those who are truly expecting Him will go. So for us who have taken the time to read this, if we miss it, don't blame our pastor, blame only ourselves for not being ready when that shout happens.
Heavenly Father, ever keep the fire of our hearts aflame for Jesus our King so we may be accounted worthy to be at the Wedding Feast of the Lamb. In Jesus Glorious, Eternal Name, Amen.
