Main thought: to examine the beauty of Godís Diversity.

Romans 12:3-5 3For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. 4Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

Iím so very grateful for the way our Lord made us. We need each other; none of us have all of the answers or revelations. We were not made to be islands but we were created to need each other to truly reflect the glory of God. I find it amazing how when weíre blessed we seem to think that everyone else should be doing things just the way we do for others to be blessed as well. The longer I live here below, the more I realize how much I donít know. I love to take the time to get down on my knees and look into the beauty of the tiniest flower as well as stand in amazement of the mightiest sequoia. How vast and limitless Godís love and creativity are! I have found it quite awesome how God uses me in my time of prayer with Him. My time with Him is like a locomotive going full bore for about 1.5 hours with very little quite time; then there are others who are just the opposite. Iíve heard people teaching on prayer how we canít hear Him speak if we do not quiet ourselves before Him. And yet, for me, itís just the opposite. When I asked God why this was so, He reminded me about the mighty rushing rivers, some right here in Alaska where I have dip netted for salmon. He reminded me how the river while in the main body is rushing mightily towards the ocean, that theyíre currents along the banks actually running upstream! In fact itís in these currents or eddies where we place our nets and the flow is so strong upstream itís hard to hold the nets still. Itís these currents that the salmon will ride to help them conserve their strengths as they press ever upward. Itís funny how God has placed many things in the physical realm around us that reflect the spiritual. Some people have a hard time understanding how God can be One God in Three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And yet every day we have one element called H2O all around us that has three different forms and each form serves a totally different purpose. We get so hung up on our limited understandings. If we could only learn how to listen and confess our weaknesses, I believe He would reveal Himself to us. Isnít it beautiful how God loves the entire world and yet desires an intimate relationship with each one of us! Revelation 2:17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it. (Whole Chapter: Revelation 2 In context: Revelation 2:16-18) We can get so lost in the sea of humanity that we forget that weíre loved individually. I love the beauty of our Fatherís heart to give us a stone with a new name that is meant to be special and personal for each and every one of us.

My spirit stands in awe of the majesty and diversity of His Heart! The Merriam-Websterís online dictionary for the definition of diverse is;

Oh, the limitless beauty of God who is without beginning and without end in Power, Glory, Honor, & Wisdom. How we so limit His teaching to our own hearts with our own pride and arrogance. Oh that He would enlarge our hungering and thirsting to know and love Him. Itís when weíve grown into the place of intimacy with Him that weíll know what is truth and what is fodder. As His Word becomes the fire and desire of our hearts, weíll find that Psalms 199:99 will be reality for us; Psalm 119:99 I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. (Whole Chapter: Psalm 119 In context: Psalm 119:98-100) He though, can only fill a vessel to the same degree in which it has been emptied. Thatís why wisdom is only reserved for those who know how to make time to be with Him.

Rabbit Trail#1; For those who say that they donít have enough time, these next facts are for you. Iím a full time Government employee working as a network manager and computer specialist. Once the fire of being with God hit my heart, I have found myself getting home about 4:20 p.m. having dinner and hitting the sack at 5:30 p.m. to begin a new day at 11:00 p.m. the same day Monday thru Friday. The wife and I make up for lost time by devoting all of our time to one another on each weekend. It works for us. What am I missing? About 4 to 5 hours of the boob tube. What am I gaining? Joys that the world has no idea of. Each and every one of us needs to make that time to be with Him. How does that happen? By saying God, I want to know you!; and then following that up with a faithful commitment to spend time seeking Him. The joys of being with Him are beyond the mind of man to comprehend. The beauties of the revelations that will be revealed ever lift us higher.Find a place where you can speak and sing aloud for as you begin to enter in to His Spirit, you will be amazed at the songs and prayers that begin to flow from your heart. Youíll find that the greater the intensity of your heart, the greater the joy will be your reward; Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. (Whole Chapter: Ecclesiastes 9 In context: Ecclesiastes 9:9-11) Other side benefits of intensity is that youíll find that it will work to appose the fleshís desire to sleep as well as help you focus on praying with all of your heart. No one will ever out give God and if we will but press in to Him, He will press in to us! James 4 8Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Back to the main trail; I love the diverse walks we have in Christ. Weíre not always just walking, standing or sitting, but living for Christ means moving in harmony with Him whatever He asks of us. Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. (Whole Chapter: Psalm 1 In context: Psalm 1:1-2) Our God is constantly on the move, living and active. We would like to know where the next step is going to be but He says trust me. Romans 8:14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. (Whole Chapter: Romans 8 In context: Romans 8:13-15) He is so Diverse, unlike any other, and is continually trying to develop in our lives the image of His Son. When we see what He is trying to do, we usually try and take over that process by trying to know exactly where the next step of faith is going to be. Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. (Whole Chapter: Psalm 119 In context: Psalm 119:104-106) Take note here that His Word shows us the path ahead of us like a light but each step it is like a lamp. Just as He shows us today the way to please Him is the walk of Faith in His Son but each step is only known as we take it for a lamp is only meant for the next immediate step. The walk of faith is not meant for the weak.

Some people think that itís only the weak of this world that choose the walk of Christ. No!, it is just the opposite, for it truly takes a person of courage and fortitude to walk a walk where you need to rely on God. The Christian life is like salmon fighting against the natural flow of water that flows at various rates down to the ocean. God gives us those oasis of rest in the eddies along the bank where the water actually flows upstream but eventually those eddies will be gone only for us to have used that place of rest to prepare us for the next leg of the journey of faith and courage. No, the walk of faith is definitely not for the faint hearted. Christ is not coming back for those who took the easy way but those who took the narrow straight path. But, the path only appears narrow when looking from the outside in. Once youíre in the flow of Godís Spirit, the fullness of joy and life are limitless! And, since these thoughts are on the Diversity of God we definitely need the next verses; Ecclesiastes 3 1There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, 6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, 7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, 8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. 9 What does the worker gain from his toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on men. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. 13 That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil-this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him. 15 Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account. [1] ††

Godís ways are not ours and His ways are beyond our understanding. Faith in Him is the most precious thing that exists. That faith is usually only purified from the fires of trusting and obedience no matter what happens. There is beauty in Diversity but only for those who have learned the joys of delighting themselves in Him.

Heavenly Father, teach us How to Trust Your Heart when we donít understand the leading of Your hands. Teach us how to grow in the beauty of Your diversity unto Your Glory, Honor, and Praise. In Jesus Name, Amen
