Just Because Someone may have an audience with Man

Thought:                               Just because people may have to listen, doesn’t mean God does

Scriptural Springboard:    Mat 5:19  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

How wonderful it is to have a position of authority such as a platform by which one is free to express their thoughts and feelings and those who are in attendance are not there to offer their opinions or disagreements but are there only to listen. The Greatest Leader is one that has first learned to follow. The Greatest Person to teach others, is one that has first been broken and learned the importance of humility. Some scriptures that depict this Truth are; Psa_34:18  The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. AND, Psa_51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. AND, the Greatest example of all time of One doing just this is stated here; Php 2:3  Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Php 2:4  Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Php 2:5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Php 2:6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Php 2:7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Php 2:8  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Php 2:9  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Jesus, fully God and yet clothed in the flesh, and who besides Him had the authority to demand such a position, and yet He, our Great God and King, humbled Himself on behalf of others! It’s much better to be placed into such a position rather than to choose such a position AND, some great scripture depicting this fact is here; Luk 14:8 When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him; Luk 14:9 And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room. Luk 14:10  But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. Luk 14:11  For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

And, while mankind can be taken for a ride by others, God is NOT to be used for man’s selfish gain; 1Pe 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God

A position of authority is like the position of a balloon on a helium tank, it fills one up. It’s no wonder that many of those who get behind a pulpit are so charismatic, it’s an adrenalin high just like running is to a runner. But, just because they may feel fulfilled by being there, doesn’t mean that God is there with them. Eating sugar provides a high too, but it is empty and provides nothing but a momentary rush of adrenalin with very little energy to sustain a long haul event.

People at this day and hour need more than anything not just those things that ‘sound good’ but that are ‘good for you!’ People are yearning for that which reaches all the way down into their innermost being and satisfies for the long haul events of life. Hence, messages that emphasize those Truths that our Lord emphasized such as Trust AND Obey, not just trust, and not just obey but both. Oh gone are the good ole days of hymns and what a good one was Trust and Obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust AND obey. So many people have called themselves into a position of leadership due to the rush they get from being in such a position, but God is not impressed.

I pen, by God’s Grace, those thoughts I feel He impels me to. I pray in the penning of them, and then in the sharing of them. Each and everything we do, does and will have eternal consequences with it. God says that we will reap what we sow, and He means it! Gal 6:7  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Those that are sowing from their own spirit and not His, will end up empty handed, those that sow from His Spirit, will end up rich beyond anyone’s wildest dreams!

We were saved from death into Life for a purpose, not for a get out of hell free card, but to ‘go and sin no more!’ Joh_5:14  Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. AND, Joh_8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. And, while eternal life is free and NOT earned just like the physical life we all have, if we don’t eat and take care of ourselves once given it, we will die; Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9  Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 2:10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. How often Eph 2:8&9 is shared but verse 10 is neglected and YET, that is why we were saved, to go and sin no more! That is the whole meal deal, not just the sugar coated part of it. That’s what our Lord emphasized and so should each and every soul in a position of responsibility to speak His Word and NOT their own.

This ‘penning’ is shared in obedience to His Spirit, those that read it, will be responsible with what they do with it.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being Holy AND Loving! Teach us not to water down your Word with our own spirit but to speak it boldly as Your Son did. For it’s in His Name, The Name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
