Main Thought: To examine the thought of growing our wealth for eternity
Growing our Heavenly Wealth
Growing our Heavenly Wealth, is that even possible!? You bet it is and how so many people who appear rich here will be paupers there and those that appear as paupers here will be lavished with Heavenís riches there. No, we will not all have the same amount of honor in Glory, yes we will all be in God's Glorious Presence but He will be true to Himself in that what a person sows, he reaps; 2 Timothy 2:20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. 2 Timothy 2:19-21 (in Context) 2 Timothy 2 (Whole Chapter)
Do you know what really blesses our Heavenly Fatherís Heart? I believe what truly blesses Him is when He may Bless us. How His nature is to give of Himself and how it grieves Him when we live in such a way that prevents Him from doing so. Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:29-31 (in Context) Ephesians 4 (Whole Chapter) For those who have been in love know the fire that burns within them to give their hearts to the one they love and oh the agony to be prevented from doing so. Proverbs 13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:11-13 (in Context) Proverbs 13 (Whole Chapter) (No wonder that married men tend to put on weight, theyíre content!)
Once satan has lost a soul to Faith in Christ, the next thing on his agenda is to try and destroy that Faith that led us to Christ. Just as we were born into hell by the disobedience of our Mom and Dad, Adam and Eve, and yet God saves us from it by Faith in His Son, so satan knows that if he can cause our love to grow cold and our faith to die, he can win us back. How True Godís Word is that NOTHING shall separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord, BUT, that doesnít mean God takes away our free will to walk away! Oh how we love to stand on only parts of Godís word without taking into consideration the ENTIRE Word of God. He Himself makes it clear that though a name may have been written down in the book of life, it can also be removed; Revelation 3:5 He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels. Revelation 3:4-6 (in Context) Revelation 3 (Whole Chapter) Oh how satan would have us believe the lie ďOnce saved, always savedĒ to lull us into some kind of stupor to where our love and eventually of faith in Him will die. No!, itís not by works we are saved BUT IT IS BY WORKS that our faith is demonstrated. And, without Faith, it impossible to please Him; Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:5-7 (in Context) Hebrews 11 (Whole Chapter) So, itís by Faith we please Him BUT if that Faith dies, so does our relationship with Him; Hebrews 10:38 But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him." Hebrews 10:37-39 (in Context) Hebrews 10 (Whole Chapter)
Faith in Christ is either growing or dying. Why because satanís purpose is to first prevent us from having faith and once that has been birthed within us, he works to destroy it. The best way we can ensure our entrance into Glory with Christ is to GROW our walk with Him. We donít grow our walk with Him by the multitude of our works for Him, but by the multitude of our time with Him. IF we are learning how to spend time with Him, the works will come but they will be birthed out of Love for Him. Unfortunately there are those who think that they grow their relationship with Christ through their works but no, it isnít. Weíre not alone with the tendency to fall back into trying to grow our relationship with Him through our works even though we may have begun in Faith. Note the Galatians even tried it; Galatians 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Galatians 3:2-4 (in Context) Galatians 3 (Whole Chapter) Godís heart desire is for us to ever be transformed into the image of His Son while satanís is for us to be conformed into the image of himself. Wouldnít it be nice if Faith in Christ just grew itself? But Heaven is not for the weak hearted nor lazy complacent attitudes. Itís going to take a heart like Jacob's of old who would not let go.
God and satan are at totally opposite extremes. Whatever God wants, satan wants just the opposite. So when God saves us to live a life full of Joy and Peace, satan works to make our confession of faith null and void by working against that faith in Christ that saved us.
I believe that positions of honor in Glory will be awarded to those who have grown their relationship with Christ. Just like the lady that broke the vase Matthew 26:6-13 6Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, 7There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. 8But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste? 9For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. 10When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.11For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. 12For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. 13Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her. How sad it will be for those who have clung tightly to their vessels of God's gracious gifts to us without releasing them back to Him for His service. His heart aches to release His blessings to those who are learning the art of surrender to His Love and Grace.
Matthew 25:14-30 14"Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. 15To one he gave five talents[a] of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. 17So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. 18But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money. 19"After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.' 21"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!' 22"The man with the two talents also came. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.' 23"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!' 24"Then the man who had received the one talent came. 'Master,' he said, 'I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.' 26"His master replied, 'You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. 28" 'Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. 29For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 30And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
We will reap what we sow. If we sow unto the Spirit which produces; 1 Timothy 1:5 The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.1 Timothy 1:4-6 (in Context) 1 Timothy 1 (Whole Chapter) If we allow our walk with Christ to become a routine rather than a relationship, we will be poor indeed when we stand before Him.
Lord, forgive us when we allow our Love for you to become a religion rather than a Loving Passionate relationship with You. Teach our Love for You to never enter into ruts of service that lacks the passion of time spent with You. Thank You that You are coming soon to pour out blessings beyond our wildest imagination for those who Love You. In Jesus Glorious, Eternal, Matchless Name, Amen.
