Getting our Garments Ready for the King!

Main Thought:         To encourage those ‘expectantly and excitedly’ waiting for the ‘catching away’ of our Lord & King Jesus Christ

Key Verses;              1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1Jn 3:3  And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

AND;                        Php 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Note:                         I tend to put our Lord’s spoken Word down in RED text and that which He breathes through His servants as PURPLE.

As we wait for the ‘catching away’ of our Lord & King Jesus, I find myself thinking of how to prepare myself for this blessed event and feel that I’m reminded by God’s Priceless and Wonderful Holy Spirit of the thoughts as penned herein.

Amongst those that claim Jesus as Lord, who wouldn’t want to make themselves ready? So, how do we? Is it be working and praying more fervently? Or could it be something else that we should be focusing upon? As I thought about this, it seemed that the Holy Spirit reminded me of John 1:3:2&3 with many other scriptures that substantiate that Truth contained herein.

And, if you think about it, to focus upon the ‘Bull’s-eye of Life’ being Jesus (please see a thought penned way back in 2002 in regards to this here; http://www.rubornagain.com/bull's-eye.htm) and not one of the outer rings of service to him, it truly seems to be the proper way of getting our garments ready for The Bridegroom.

As I think to myself, ‘Lord do I need to pray more fervently, or do something?’ He seems to ask me ‘what is it that I do that causes God’s Holy goose bumps to rise within my spirit?’ And it’s not my service to Him, but it’s placing my heart and thoughts upon Him and his Glorious Beautiful Kingdom of Holiness and Love, a place of unspeakable beauty and wonder. And, those ‘goose bumps of joy’ tend to make me think that is when the Heavenly Father is looking upon me and smiling! (I think I just got a confirmation of that thought with a wave of them passing through my soul!)

So, based upon that confirmation to my heart; let me just share that primary thought and the following scriptures that substantiate that thought with keeping our hearts and eyes fixed on the Blessed hope that is before those that claim Jesus as Lord!

Gal_5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Eph_1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Col_1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

Col_1:23  If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Col_1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Tit_2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Heb_3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

1Pe_1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

1Jn_3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Precious Loving Heavenly Father, thank You for filling our hearts with Joy as we think of our union with You & our King in Your unspeakable, beautiful Kingdom of Life, Righteousness, Peace, Joy, Love and on and on…, Ever teach us to keep that blessed hope of our union with You a passionate and ever present hope within our hearts that we may get and keep our garments ready for Your Son and our King for it’s in Jesus Glorious, Eternal, Matchless Name we pray, Amen.
