Thought: Have you ever thought about the difference between the wise and the foolish virgins in regards to their actual watching/expectancy levels?
Mat 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with
Mat 25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
First of all, it should be crystal clear that both groups were hoping for the Bridegroom thus both groups represent Christians today one group being wise and one being foolish for the world is NOT waiting for Him.
Also, it should be clear in reference to Matt 25:3&4 that one group had their hearts involved with the One they were waiting for since they came prepared for the long haul of waiting for Him and the foolish ones didn't. In other words, one group could be considered those in a 'passionate relationship' with the Bridegroom verses those in 'confessional relationship' with Him. And just as today there are those thinking that they can name and claim their way into the Kingdom of God but God's Word is clear to such as those; 1Co_4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. AND, 2Ti_3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. On Jan 14, 2017 it seemed that the Lord gave me a good analogy of those who are expectantly waiting for the rapture of our Lord compared to those who aren't which can be found at; http://www.rubornagain.com/Doggies.htm
Being saved is more than speaking God's Word and going through the motions, it's knowing Him passionately! The Kingdom of Heaven will be filled with those who will have had little knowledge of His Word in this life but came to know Him. And, again, it will be surprisingly void of those who had great and vast knowledge of His Word here below but lacked a passionate love relationship with Him. Being saved means being sensitive to His Heart, not just having a head full of knowledge.
Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
For it's with the head, knowledge is obtained, but it's with the heart, a life is changed. One can have all the knowledge in the world and still miss the Giver of all knowledge, And, on the other hand one can have the least amount of knowledge in all the world and be in an intimate relationship with the One from which all knowledge exists. The heart is to our will as wind is to the sails of a ship. Those who have learned to listen to God's Spirit which talks to our hearts will be those who have learned to walk by the spirit and not according to the foolishness of man's intellect.
Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Pro 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Satan, the fallen angels, Adam & Eve, Most of the Israelites led out of Egypt and countless others have seen God or His Mighty workings first hand and yet it didn't do any good for them at all. God is looking for those who know how to listen to His heart via His Word and then follow Him accordingly. No wonder God has chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise; 1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 1Co 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 1Co 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
Heavenly Father, may we never dull the hearing of our hearts with Yours! Ever keep us sensitive to Your Precious Holy Spirit by a daily and continual obedience to all He has us do. For it's in Jesus Glorious, Eternal, Matchless Name we pray, Amen.
